Towards a purposeful journey...
This write up is placed before the students who have been looking for a suitable undergraduate college to pursue their higher studies in the royal city of Mysore. I have no hesitation in saying that an objective presentation of the college unfolds in the following pages of the Information Brochure - 2010. A prospective student is adviced to go through these vital pages along with parents very carefully before eventually deciding upon joining the college. I am saying this because, the decision now would decide the course of your future journey.
We nurture devoted students. We encourage disciplined students. We are upto grooming finer citizens with a strong will for self development blended with love for the country and service to the society. Therefore, students aspiring to join should be prepared for a rigorous three-year tenure filled with hardwork, tireless efforts to achieve and sacrificing of temporary pleasures of carefree life style, normally associated with college life. The youth can never afford to drift or falter at the crucial moments of making a decision having a bearing upon the rest of the life.
And, having once decided, the student shall stick to it with a fanatical fervour and single-mindedness. This is the way the ‘achievers' have done in the past. The college has no reason to believe otherwise.
Let us now discuss some of the real life issues. What is your immediate task ? Naturally, it is about making a few decisions, with a fair amount of thought given to it, ofcourse, after mutual deliberations between you and your parents. You start by choosing the college you would like to join. Next is about choosing the course of study, followed by proper combination of subjects.
In our case you will have to make one more important decision that is regarding your co-curricular and extra-curricular preferences. We have about Ninety different Fora and Committees to choose your area of interest. They are called ASIC Committees: Administration Support, Students Support, Institutional Support and Co-curricular Support. These are dynamic in nature and would provide enormous opportunities for students to work in groups and in the process of doing so understand their self-esteem and also make positive contributions towards institutional societal development en route their own development.
An attempt is made in this to capture all the facets of the college in a synoptic mode. This would help you to understand and appreciate the college before making your final selection.
To conclude: We are driven by the nation's mission of improving higher education scenario in the country. A meagre 12% of eligible youth in the age group of 17-23 are enrolling for higher education in our country(you deserve to be congratulated for being included). The need of the hour is, therefore, to improve the position many folds with an equal measure of qualitative improvement as well. We have realized this and have our roles fixed before us. Yes, we want to make a difference in higher education.
I invite you to join Mahajana First Grade College and be co-sailors as we have embarked upon a purposeful journey with a clearcut destination: Education to Excel!
