Mahajana First Grade College is located in Jayalakshmipuram - the prime residential locality of Mysore. It is easily accessible from the vantage points of the city through public modes of transportation.
Laboratories The college has well equipped laboratories, rich in facilities, for various disciplines like Bio-technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Criminology & Forensic Science, Geography and Psychology. A Commerce Lab is also set up to facilitate teaching of Commerce and Management subjects.
Library The library is housed in a separate wing with a newly added spacious hall as a Reference Section. It has a collection of 26,500 books, leading Journals and periodicals numbering 90 including a few international journals such as Harvard Business review, Economic and Political Weekly etc. In the era of information dissemination, the library has succeeded in upgrading itself to modern technology. The fully automated library has its entire repository bar coded. It is in possession of a digital collection of 690 prized CDs on important subjects. The library has access to 21 online journals. It also provides Book Bank facility and Inter - library borrowing system. To promote reading habits and extensive use of library, special cash prizes are awarded to students making maximum use of library facility. The library is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday and 8.30 am to 2.00 pm on saturday.
Auditorium & Open Air Theatre The institution has two auditoria: Vivekananda Hall and Silver Jubilee Open Air Theatre. These cater to the requirements of assembly of different types with a well-equipped Public Address System & Acoustics. The pride of the college is its two state-of-the-art Audio Visual Centres: AVC -I and II. Stadium and Gymnasium The college has Jagadeesh Prasad Stadium, where facilities for out-door and in-door sports are provided. It has a Multi-Gymnasium with good coaching facility.
Sports Students are encouraged to develop and attain physical growth and acquire sportsmanship. The College regularly holds Annual Athletic Meet, Inter-class competitions, and hosts the State Level Sri Ranga Rao Memorial City Inter-collegiate Volleyball and Rattehalli Ramappa Memorial Throwball tournaments. The college has gained reputation in the field of sports with its sports persons winning coveted titles, trophies and championships. It is a matter of pride for the college that its sports persons have donned the University and the National colours. Hostels Separate hostel facilities for men and women students are provided on request on first-come-first served basis. Health Centre The college has a full-fledged health centre to provide first-aid facilities to the students. Periodic health check-ups are organized with the help of medical officers. The college serves as the study centre of the Karnataka State Open University, Mysore. Counselling classes for the students are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays. It is judged as one of the model centres. About 800 students are allotted to this study centre for contact classes.
